ITA.  MIL *insisted* we invite certain people.  We knocked favorite friends off my parents list.  Guess what?  MILs "friends" never showed up.  A-Holes. [/quote]

Because tens of thousands of dollars from my parents, the hosts, was more than generous and paid for a beautiful wedding that was exactly the size and scope we wanted it to be. Because every single family member and super-close family friends were already accounted for. My DH even told me not to do it, because that was his mom's way of trying to get "in" and control the wedding. She started inviting people before we had even finished making the rounds of announcing our engagement. [/quote]
