ANYONE can get colorectal cancer.... the incidence rate is 15 times higher for those over the age of 50 than that of those age 20-49 but that doesn't mean that the wont or can't get it... so if they symptoms match, they should most definitely get checked out. If a twenty year old found a lump in her breast... should she ignore it because 'she isn't old enough', 'isn't in the AGE BRACKET', 'old enough to even have mammograms' for breast cancer? SURE AS HELL NOT.... that would be stupid. And besides that ONE PERSONS BODY IS NOT THE SAME AS ANOTHER... so you saying that what she was experiencing was EXACTLY what you did..... that is stupid. Forums are not the place to get medical help just so all of you people know. That is what on call drs are for , urgent care facilities and emergency rooms. Anyone who would take advice from other individuals in a forum about their actual health issues are not right.
First of all, this is a very old thread -- not sure why you're bringing it up. Second of all, everyone was advising her to see a gastroenterologist, who as part of diagnostic testing for Crohn's and UC would do the same testing one would do to diagnose colorectal cancer. If she had cancer -- which is much less likely than her having Crohn's or UC, especially in conjunction with her positive antibody testing -- it would have been found in a colonoscopy.
