As a new bride, I received a lot of attention and fussing, and a guy was sent off to get some fresh coconuts. I was offered a neatly cut and scraped coconut to drink out off. I insisted I wasn't thirsty, but people thought I was being polite. I held it for a few minutes, and while I was eyeing it trying to figure out how to take a sip from it without ruining my new clothes, one of the women brought a glass and transferred the coconut water into the glass. I took a sip and almost gagged. There were half a dozen kids there watching me and giggling. Thankfully, DH walked in to ask something, and all the women and kids stepped out respectfully. I had him gulp it quickly, and sat down holding the glass by the time they came back in. One woman asked how I liked it, and I said it was sweet and pretty good. Out she went, and I could hear her telling the the guy in the yard to cut another one and get it ready as I had really liked it....[/quote]
