Serious and sincere question: Are there any studies or actual data that show success of Montessori beyond ECE? Especially through middle school?
yes, through elementary. not sure about middle school. I've been more impressed with it at the elementary level than ECE anyway (though success at elementary is difficult without the grounding in primary).
Do you mean success of children who attended Montessori middle schools or how children who did Montessori ECE and elementary do in middle school?
I meant that there is plenty of research on effectiveness up to and including lower and upper elementary -- that is through 6th grade. Don't know what PP was looking for. I'm not sure if there is much research beyond 6th grade. Maria Montessori herself considered Montessori high schools experimental.
Maria also thought middle schoolers should be sent away to live on a farm, sell produce at a market, etc. Parents were to come visit on weekends, and the children would cook for them, etc. Which, as the parent of 2 middle schoolers, I wholeheartedly agree with.
