If you don't receive your postcard a couple of weeks later, CALL AEI (not the home school, they have no authority in this matter). AEI themselves advise you to do this, presumably because every year some applications fall through the cracks.

That's weird, I turned mine in in person (Silver Spring office) and received no such stamp or receipt.  I don't remember seeing that suggested in the paperwork, either.  I also never received a confirmation email, but I did receive the note in the mail about the test date.

I have 2 middle schoolers who applied both to HGC and middle school magnet. The MS magnet applications did say to include a self addressed stamped postcard, but I don't remember this being a part of the HGC application.[/quote]
