Pul-lease.  Many of us have experience with this.  You're taking your limited experience and extrapolating it to apply to all military personnel.

+1, my husband enlisted and did his 20.  The military gave him the life his family could not.  He got his degree and a good job after he retired.  The military does not ignore its members.  A young enlisted salary is not supposed to cover for a large family.  If they live on base, apply for WIC and possibly food stamps, they should be ok.  Its tuff, but its manageable.  Or, mom can get a job and if they live near base that has child care, use that for a very nominal fee.

OP, didn't you post already you want your brother out.  If he has no place to go, the military is a good option.[/quote]
