Yes, I heard that too about 3-4 days after the downing. Putin said , in anger, that the trucks are visible crossing border . Its pretty credible and the public statement is just sign that gloves are off.

EVERYTHING in Iran and Syria is smuggled through Turkey and has been for decades. If US didn't want that then they should not have put sanctions on Iran and Iraq for decades. People will find a way and yes, it breeds corruption.

Erdogan strikes me as two faced. I read his "poem" he recited that he was sent to jail for back when he was mayor. I can see him saying one thing publicly to not rock NATO boat and then do anotehr thing on ground that supports Islamists.

fwiw, every Israeli PM has done the same dance for decades with their " peace negotiations" speek and then their " facts on ground"
