I told him the same thing about shutting his eyes and warned him the self-surgery part would be gruesome. I also told him we could leave any time. But he was great with it, and I loved how the movie reinforced some of the things we work on at home. One big theme in our house is that we are all problem solvers, we tackle problems big and small, and we discuss often how to do that. And Matt Watney was problem solver-extraordinaire.
