I could barely keep down my breakfast as I read the Time article today but to think that the US can fix this is totally naive. What do we do, point the Afgans to the shining example in our country where kids are never sexually abused (nope); promise to cut off all military and financial aid unless it stops (nope bc even if the Afgan leadership agrees to those terms they could not enforce it); pull out our troops and abandon the country all together (hello Taliban).
