I'm sick of seeing Republican demonized for trying to make the country better.  Republicans are portrayed as worse than terrorists.  I think that is utter bullshit.  This is why I try to turn the tables as much as possible to wake liberals up.[/quote]

I'm one of the PPs who has been hardest on Damon earlier for presuming to tell Brown what diversity is, but in no way does what went down here make me even slightly more sympathetic to conservatives.  Matt Damon may have screwed up here a bit in my eyes and may not be as evolved as I want him to be, but in general he created Project Greenlight to give diverse young filmmakers a chance to make it in the business and to help them, so he is doing something positive with it.  And although Matt Damon may not believe in applying a sort of advanced affirmative action to Project Greenlight, conservatives don't believe in any sort of affirmative action, EVER!  It's pull yourself up by your own bootstraps, kid, even if you can't afford boots!

And frankly, when I think of hypocrites in politics, it's never the Democrats that come first to mind.  Democrats are rarely caught out for secretly wanting to balance ALL OF THE BUDGETS instead of giving more money than the country can afford to helping poor people, or secretly hating lesbians when they run on a rainbow friendly ticket.  But Republicans -- oh!  Cursing gay people as an abomination while they arrange clandestine visits with their same sex lovers!  Pretending to be fiscally conservative while they spend and spend and spend on foreign wars or file for bankruptcy four times.

Conservatives are always the biggest do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do hypocrites in the room, so this post was interesting for me but I do not wish to subscribe to your newsletter.[/quote]
