She didn't say she did not want kids though. She said she is surprised she is still childless and her hesitance makes sense given the Hamm quotes. He definitely did not want to have children and she it appears hung around in case he changed his mind. She must have low self esteem.[/quote]

x2.  Original PP you completely missed the point.  No one is wringing their hands over Cameron Diaz, say- who has always said she doesn't want kids.  This is someone who said she "couldn't believe" she hadn't had children yet, and presumably did it for the sake of her partner who has been very open about not wanting kids.

My sister kind of "can't believe" she doesn't have kids either because she always envisioned herself having them when she was younger. As she got older, however, she realized -- with a fair amount of suprise--that being a mother wasn't really what she wanted, it was just what she envisioned because it's the "norm" & what's generally expected.[/quote]
