For ES and MS, parents can send checks to the school for deposit into the lunch account. For HS, parents also have the option of sending cash with their kids. Of course, parents can also send packed lunches as well. I feel for people with the fees, especially those that can't afford to put higher amounts into the account. It used to be that you could put $200 or more into the account at once so that you only paid a couple of transaction fees per year. Now, the dollar threshold is lower. But, there is an advantage of using these accounts. If your child changes schools, it is easy to get your money transferred. The same is not true if you use the cash or check option to fund the school lunch account. [/quote]
