No, that's not how it works.  At all.  He has writing, producing and directing skills (remember Argo?  best picture of 2013).  He already has a movie (Live by Night) in pre-production for which he is writing, directing and starring.  He also is slated to star as Batman in two more Justice League movies due out in 2017 and 2019.  He has another movie in post-production.  [/quote]

He'll have a few more coming out, but he's heading downhill, just like he always does when he's not in a super-stable relationship. His drinking and gambling issues will make him more difficult to work with, and his womanizing is going to cause a popularity hit. He has a long Batman contract, but I guarantee you there are cancellation provisions in there if the movies start to bomb. He has talent, but if he becomes unreliable to work with and a bad financial risk for investors, he'll stop getting filmmaking opportunities. Men's careers get hurt when they can't successfully sell themselves as a romantic lead due to their personal lives. It's one of the big reasons gay male actors are afraid of coming out, that they'll never be marketable as a romantic lead again. When was the last time Tom Cruise had a successful role as a romantic lead? Not since Jerry McGuire in 1996, because women just don't believe him in that role anymore. He tried in Knight and Day, which completely bombed. He's managed to continue a successful career as an action star because, whatever you think of his private life, he is a consummate professional on the set. He delivers good performances on schedule and is reliable to market the films later. Ben Affleck is becoming more of a mess as he falls of the wagon, and it won't take long of him showing up late on the set (or disappearing in the middle of filming, as he did a couple of months ago while on location), blowing it on junkets, etc., before people will give up on him. He can salvage the situation, but he needs to get his shit together fast and stop convincing the world that he's an ever-increasing mess.[/quote]
