Interesting that this is your response given that the article is from the Daily Mail.  
Perhaps the associate didn’t know what the ISIS flag looks like. Perhaps s/he did. 
Who knows.  The manager claims it was ignorance on the part of the employee.

they must not read the news at all, or barely even watch television if they don't know what the flag looks like.  But, in all honesty, it is NOT an "ISIS" flag.  It is just a replica of the flag (aka "black standard") that was carried by Muhammad during his conquests.  It simply says:  “There is no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God.” - the white circle represents the seal of Muhammad.

Now that Verizon no longer offers the Weather Channel, I don't watch any TV news, ever. I suspect I know more than most Americans about current national and international events. That your media leaves you completely ignorant. And that's clearly OK. There is print media that shows what's going on the ME and includes photos with the ISIS flag in them. Even *gasp* in the NYT!!
