[/quote] It is a real cost, yes. The number is about twice the national average, but not unreasonable under the circumstances. You've got to add international transport of remains to the average. Also, when a relatively young person dies unexpectedly and traumaticly, one can expect a very large turn out in support of the deceased's family.
