Plenty of schools have bad ratings on GS. I would believe it but being so weird about naming even the town is screaming fake - like you know if you name a school people whose kids go there will call you out . If you saw this happen , report it, and blast them all over the damn place ... why protect them? Also why the hell would there be a room full of parents? And no one complaining? Really?
New poster here. The OP explained above, more than once, why no other parents did anything and why she was afraid to -- this teacher intimidates them all, and complaints to the principal have already brought retaliation onto this parent. OP doesn't specify what that retaliation was, but PP, believe me, it often ends up being something that affects the "squeaky wheel parent's" child. If everyone is this scared of the teacher, the aide AND the principal, you need to report it to the superintendent -- but I would get a written report to the principal done first, so you can say (when the principal blows you off) that you did indeed take this to the principal first. If you go directly to the superintendent's office, you likely will be told, "You need to approach the principal first." So do that, fast, and then: Write the super's office. . But be SURE to be very factual; do it in writing (e-mail and then also send a registered letter with "return receipt" card attached); and do not let it get emotional or drag in other incidents. Stick to the lack of water issue and the fainting that you witnessed. Emphasize that you witnessed it in person. If you can get other parents who witnessed it to also sign, that is better since you will not be one complainer -- they are more likely to dismiss one parent as having a grudge or being a serial whiner, but if a couple of parents or a group complains they have to pay more attention. Lay out what happened. The most effective complaint would be by the fainting child's parents. I would go for it because it's nearly the end of the school year and if the principal or teacher get angry about it now, well, there's less time in which they can make your life or your kid's life difficult. But you should expect repercussions and a reputation next year. I would very seriously try to get my kid out of any school where reasonable adults were this cowed by the principal. Not sure how you could do it, but I really would look hard at options, pronto.
