I thought it was really funny, and expected my mom to be peeved. Maybe she was, but I think she just thought it was cute that DS was saying their names (albeit incorrectly) at such a young age. He's three now, and still calls them Meemaw and Poppa.

For my inlaws, we went with what the other grandkids call FIL, which is Grandad. But I asked MIL what she'd like my son to call her, because her other grandkids call her Grandma also. She chose Gran, and was happy about it.

Another side of our family calls their grandmother Honey. The grandkids chose the name. I think that's so cute. [/quote]
