But going to the library every week is hard, we are both working and have long commutes; I don't know why they can't get the books they need from school library, but they are limited to checking out 1 or 2 once a week.

OP, could you buy books?  DS has a bookshelf full of books that we've bought at home - order them from Amazon and they'll come right to your door.  Or let your child read books on a tablet -- same thing.  Buy the e-book and download it.  No need to go to the library.[/quote]
