Get a lawyer. You can lose your license or even get jail time for a reckless. I own a sports car and all the people in this area know to avoid a lead foot in VA -- 15-over is a reckless charge, unlike MD where it's 30 over. I got a reckless about 15 years ago and lost my license for a month when I showed up in court, representing myself.
But I was going 13 over.
Anything over 80 is reckless driving in the commonwealth!
As well it should be.
Exactly. I'm no Virginia fan, but 80 is not an appropriate driving speed-- ever.
Not OP, but there are long spans of highway out West where the limit is 75. Meaning everyone is doing at least 80, on cruise control, because just like here everyone goes +5 or +10. We drove through Arizona on I-40 doing 80-85 and were getting passed on the left by the people doing 90-95. Of course, I would never ever drive like that here, but out there it's the middle of the desert and there's barely anyone around and it's straight and flat and sunny and dry and boring and if you are putzing along at 65 you are the problem.
