Count me as another one who has a close relationship with both her MIL and own mom.  MIL is a second mom to me just like PP.  I treasure the advice and help and good times I have with both.[/quote]

My mom and I were incredibly, incredibly close. She died and now I am extraordinarily close with my mother-in-law. I actually take issue with pps comment. I think people close with their own mothers are more likely to be close with their mothers-in-law at least in my own experience.[/quote]

I am the PP, and as a mother of a boy,  I am actually happy my observations did not ring true to many of you. As I said, these were anecdotal experiences, so no need to take issue with my statement, I am already convinced  I was wrong:)[/quote]
