OP here. Those of you who think I am just being nosey or jealous - I'm willing to bet that you all align with a particular set of people who are anti- government and anti-taxes. If you see someone who is able to pull one over on big government, you are all for it. Am I right? I don't think you can deny that my suspicions are justified here. I know it's not a slam dunk case, which is why I'm talking about it on Dcum instead of the IRS. Tax fraud is a very real problem and we ALL pay for it. The IRS doesn't have a whistle blower program as an outlet for jealous people. They have it because it is a serious offense that warrants serious consequences. It really annoys me that so many of you seem to think anyone who doesnt simply look the other way is a jealous turd.
OP YOU'RE NOT UNDERSTANDING OR GETTING IT!!! Who EFing died and made you Barney Fife? It is not your business to "turn people in" because in your warped mind you think that there is just no way in the world that your poor slob neighbor could suddenly be doing so well. You need a job or a hobby. You have real problems and I feel sorry for your spouse, if you have one.
Wow. Do you have any idea how crazy YOU sound? I have no idea why you are so worked up about someone you don't know and a situation you know very little about. I never said I was going to turn him in. In fact, I said I wasn't. I simply thought his situation seemed shady. So I asked about it on an anonymous forum. Just curious to see if others agreed or could explain what might be going on. I don't know why you and others freaked out and got all defensive. I can't recall a conversation with him where he didn't bring up something like "tax creativity" or "working the system". When he talks about finances, his wife tells him not to talk about it in front of her because she doesn't want to know. Can you honestly tell me that you wouldn't give it a second thought if you knew this guy? He is not a neighbor. He's a family member. I care about this situation because I care A LOT about his children. I am worried about what can happen to them if their dad gets in trouble. I do not want to see their family broken up, and I do not want to see them lose their home. I HOPE he is innocent!
