Wow, 21:19, you are just WRONG, WRONG, WRONG on every count and THOROUGHLY OFF BASE. We have no "special connection" with the Head of School - any parent is free to make an appointment, DC is NOT in LEAP Chemistry or AP Calc, you completely twisted and misportrayed what I said about kids getting facts wrong and guess what, our DC has been disciplined for tardiness as well, and you know what, WE ARE FINE WITH IT. You are making a lot of frankly offensive and defamatory accusations here. "Speculation" on how kids are doing? THEY JUST GOT REPORT CARDS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Treating kids like sh!t? We know LOTS of happy kids there. You are clearly not in tune with the same reality that the rest of us are. There's really no point in anyone even engaging or responding to you, as you've made it crystal clear that you are only going to continue misrepresenting, distorting, and twisting everything.
your numerous capitalizations in this post, as opposed to your insufferable rationalizations in the prior one, betray your level of desperation. Anyone is free to reread your post where you said that because there was no adult in the room no one could really ever "know" what happened. So anything we say is defamatory. And it puts us in the impossible situation where we can never defend our kids. Ok. Got your point of view, thanks for the insight into how some other people approach life... I made no speculation on how your kids were doing academically. I made a speculation about what class your kids were in. And you have just revealed that your kids are not in the upper school, since GP1 is not yet over for them, so it is not surprising that you have no interest in, or contact with, anyone who might remotely be related to someone in 8La. And that means you were not here the first year. And that makes a big difference in knowing where you are coming from. I do not think I misrepresented, distorted or twisted anything you said. I quoted it in order to avoid that particularly dangerous pitfall. Have a glass of wine, go to sleep, and reread your post about how no kids can be credible witnesses to anything so we should put our faith in Basis, and how you have found meeting with the head of school with itemized lists to be productive, and you have found him to be responsive. After 24 hours, compare how you and I sound. If you take a cold hard look in the mirror, you should not like what you see. I may not either, but at least I will look in a real mirror. I am not Dorian Gray after all, which, BTW, in case you are interested, is a book that none of our kids have ever heard of unless we chose to supplement (my kids have read it.) And stop lobbing bombs like defamatory and hearsay. By definition, if something happens at school and you hear it from your child, it is hearsay. Is it defamatory? Well, first of all, I think the gist is solid. Second of all, defamation is in the eye of the beholder, and unfortunately I am getting the strong sense that no one here thought anything they did or said was wrong, and there is no need to clarify anything for a bunch of 8th grade anxious kids, who will just go to SWW........ and we will be better for their absence? Godspeed and goodnight, and ad hominem attacks after well reasoned but misguided posts do nothing to enhance your credibility. I am sure it was the alcohol.......... I do pray you do not have a female child who ever gets molested or raped because I think your bedside manner would leave a lot to be desired. Let your wife do it, please, for the sake of your child.
