Sometimes, the property next door "cuts into" the corner lot - so watch for that! Corner lots are not for people who like their privacy, is what PPs are trying to relay. In some jurisdictions, the tall privacy hedge would not be allowed on the front of a corner lot, as it could be seen (depending on the amount of free time your neighbors have) as "blocking" (not really) the intersection. Having two front yards could potentially pose an issue, if people have time on their hands to make it one. However, in upscale Chevy Chase neighborhoods, we have friends who own huge houses with delightful hedges (and professional landscape architects on staff); and neighbors too important (really) to mind others' business, so it looks quite lush and beautiful (not barren and depressed).
