Lest we forget Ted Kaczynski graduated from Harvard University in 1962, at age 20, and later taught at Berkeley. Every school has its flakes.
Did Ted perpetrate his crimes at Harvard against minors whom he was in a trust relationship over more than a decade witnessed by Harvard personnel, reported to Harvard personnel and ignored by Harvard administration for the greater good of the godlike football coach and football program? So no a "every school has its flakes" scenario. To try to diminish the heinous crimes is offensive.
to try to diminish the heinous crimes is offensive - you do realize that the Unabomber killed people don't you? While at Harvard, Kaczynski was among the twenty-two Harvard undergraduates used as guinea pigs in ethically questionable experiments conducted by Harvard Prof. Henry Murray. In the experiment each student received a code name. Kaczynski was given the code name "Lawful". Among other purposes, Murray's experiments were focused on measuring people's reactions under extreme stress. The unwitting undergraduates were submitted to what Murray himself called "vehement, sweeping and personally abusive" attacks. Assaults to their egos, cherished ideas and beliefs were the tools used to cause high levels of stress and distress. These experiments were conducted at Harvard University from the fall of 1959 through the spring of 1962 --- now do you REALLY want to go THERE? I didn't think so.
Great you both win. But so not an "every school has its flakes" scenario that a school can simply put "in its rear-view mirror." Ridiculous.
