Because I just wanted to know more.  My kids are approaching the college years.  I attended Yale and Harvard Law and have never heard of Davidson.  I couldn't even tell you where it is.  That's why I wanted to know.  Maybe I should take my kids to visit.  That's why I posted "no snark intended".

NP here -- DH has a classmate from Yale Law School who did his undergrad work at Davdison -- a smart, funny and modest man, who chose to return to the south after law school.  At their DC independent school our kids have had an excellent teacher who is a recent Davdison grad.  In recent years Davidson has been drawing more students from this area.  One thing we've learned from having had 2 of our children apply to college is that school reputations can change significantly in 20-30 years.  Parents who understand this are doing their child(ren) a great service.  [/quote]
