Don't know if I'd wait THAT long -- but yeah -- in lots of conservative cultures where there isn't any real physical contact pre-marriage and sometimes even limited dating or time spent alone, the couple doesn't get busy right away. They may not announce it to the world, but I've had friends who've had arranged marriages tell me that they didn't consummate for a few weeks. They spent that few weeks making out and being intimate in other ways so as to be more "ready" for sex. I was a little surprised as I figured the DH would want to go at it asap, but more than one friend has told me that in many arranged marriages you go slow so as to build up for sex -- rather than putting a ring on it and then jumping in bed with a near stranger 2 hrs later.[/quote]
