We always rent a car for more space and no having to clean it afterwards :) 
For me camping is fun, it is something we like to do, but not a substitute for a "regular" vacation. I day dream about driving out to go to dinner, but once I am there I tend to prefer cooking by the campfire and end up only eating out on the way home. [/quote]
