The court would likely give you a time limit. 2 years to get an advanced degree and it's expected that degree gets you a job that pays a certain amount. In Maryland they presume all property is marital property. That house, retirement, and debt is just as much yours as it is his. Doesn't matter your work status history or who opened the credit cards.
