Two and a half years of dating. Never lived together. I was 21 when we married and he was 25. Happily married 56 years until his death nine years ago. I still miss him every day.
Your post is very touching to me because our lives are so similar...two years of dating, never lived together, I was 21 and he was 24, happily married for 46 years until his death earlier this year. I greatly miss my husband every day as well.
I am the widowed poster, Friend, and I am so very sorry for your loss. Please believe me when I tell you that it does get easier and it does get "sweeter" if that makes any sense. My memories bring me only joy and smiles now when right after his death even happy memories brought me sorrow. I do miss him every day but my grieving has ended and even the "missing" is sweetly comforting. The first two years after my husband's death were by far the hardest of my entire life. I dream that the afterlife is like the ending of that old movie "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir". It is silly but it gives me comfort. All the best to you, Friend.
