My DH's relationship with his ex is not and has never been amicable. When we met, my stepkids were in middle school. I don't know what happened in the years between his divorce and when we met, but I know that I facilitated gifts between the kids and DH, and between the kids and their mother. It was the right thing to do, but boy do I often wish for all of our sakes that the co-parenting relationship had been better. Kids are now in college, DH and I are happily married so all is good, but blended families really are hard.[/quote]
