To answer the original question, based on an ex and two kids who have bitten their nails on and off.  I think, "what's wrong?" b/c with at least one kid and the ex, it is anxiety.  It's also habit so takes a long time to change, even if you are motivated.  I do think it made my ex look unprofessional.  You're talking and next thing you know, the other person is eating their nails (which, is part of your body and not that much different than picking your nose). [/quote]
