You are probably "ruminating" because as another PP pointed out, you're still making the same choice on a daily basis. It made sense to buy the instrument when you did. But now, a year later, you still have the choice to sell the instrument and get most if not all of the money back. Now it makes less sense to keep it, so it weighs on you.
