It was missed . The point being that an ivy degree means not having to prove yourself or your intellect. It's assumed.

A non-ivy may be just as smart but his intelligence will not be assumed. He will have to prove it .

Ahem. I did not miss the point. Rather, I was asking: if it's true that Ivy leaguers never have to explain how smart they are, how come some of them think that they gave to explain how smart they are?
