It's a hard-earned, brutal way to grow up and yes, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, but I'd much rather not be plagued with the subsequent anxiety/depression and panic attacks. Thanks, Dad. Sad to say, but because her children are so young, they may be fortunate to have escaped the toxicity of being raised by an addict. My wish is that they will be raised in a sober environment and will themselves choose to abstain from drugs and alcohol. Those poor children are genetic time bombs, as am I.
