Despite the # of Americans living in Amsterdam, most of our friends from that time are Dutch.[/quote] Everyone's experience is different, I guess. My cousin living in Amsterdam says it's practically impossible to make Dutch friends. Her social circle consists of expats from all over the world, so it's not that she prefers the company of people from her own country. [/quote]
