The thought that something would be given to the sibling is enough to make them gobble it down. Negative psychology also works with toddlers. Sometimes it works to look at the child and say that I really don't think you should eat that. I'll just take it away because... and they'll grab the plate back and will look straight into your eyes as they smugly put the item into their mouth and dramatically chew and swallow it.
