What is booking? I guess I have a vague idea but I don't really understand based on what you wrote.
It's really complicated to explain because the nuances of booking are lost in translation. It is a concept so foreign to American soil that the knee-jerk reaction to the one-line explanation of booking is, "That is so weird! Why do Asian women stand for that?" Hell, you're just listening to some drunk guy talk for 10 minutes in exchange for a free cocktail. No groping. It's not so bad. He might just be super cute and the two of you hit it off. An explanation here: http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1680007 Booking happens in the U.S., in the Asian clubs. But guys of all races inherently love the idea of booking. Imagine! The horror of horrors, some hot chick shoots you down at a bar when you go up and ask if you can buy her a drink, and you slink back to your buddies while you hear her friends laughing at you, doesn't ever happen in booking. Nick Cage went to a booking club, that's where he met his wife. She was a waitress.
Love the idea of a booking club.
Riiiight? This is OP. Booking is great for women when you are in your early 20's and too cash-strapped to get drunk (remember those days), because you get free drinks. Booking is great for guys because you can technically be the ugliest guy in the club but you WILL get an audience with the hottest girl in the club. How's that for a mind-bending concept??? It's a great equalizer. The only problem is, it's expensive for guys to participate. But Asia is very nouveau-riche right now, so why is that even a surprise.
