I have been a live in nanny for 15 years. After taxes I take home about 45,000 a year. I have no bills my employers pay for my health insurance, cell phone, car insurance, gym membership. I don't spend money on food. I eat what they have in the house. I am also a couponer and get snack food and all toiletries for free. I do spend money on clothes, purses and sometimes vacations. But I travel to wonderful destinations both domestic and abroad with my employers for free. I also have no housing or transportation costs as I live in.  I've been able to save around 700k doing this. I also own a home in my home state worth about 200k that I just paid off in June. I had a 15 year mortgage on it and have rented it out all these years as I have been a live in nanny. When I retire I plan on living in my paid off home but until then I just collect the rent as income now.[/quote]
