We waste money on language courses, and we could spend that money on more useful courses. That is why I am so adamant about it. In higher Ed, they are begging us to prepare our kids properly, and we are no doing it. We worry too much about whether or not a school has a great Mandarin course. In the real world, people eat, sleep, drink, and dream in English. I have traveled the world and can attest to that.
No kidding, you've travelled in the real world? Wow, what's it like?? Because, see, I live in this little podunk town called Washington DC, and no one here ever travels or moves here from other countries. So, living here, we have no concept of the real world. Since you're so worldly and you know so much about why everyone in bilingual Ed is wasting their time, why don't you post your full name and DCUM will endorse you as Chancellor? Then you can shut down all the bilingual Ed in DC and prepare us for the real world! (Meanwhile, don't worry, there is always next year for you to apply again to Yu Ying! No need to waste so much time this early trying to cut the competition.). :)
