Total double standard. I don't hear anyone bashing Muslims for the oppression of women, or arranged, consanguineous marriages among the Indian people.

It's a shame that this double standard exists, because it ultimately fosters resentment when you don't get treated with the same equality and respect.

And for the record, the number of teachers in the U.S. alone who have sexually abused children FAR outweigh the incidence of priests. Not making any excuses, but you don't hear the same vitriol toward the teaching profession.

There are a far greater number of teachers interacting with children, in the US and also worldwide, than priests. So that's not an apple to apple comparison. You want the *rate* of sexual abuse.[/quote]
