Totally. Rude. The world does not revolve around yoU and your kid. What if every other parent made the same decision so that there was no one home, any where, to hand out candy to your precious little angel? There will be other halloweens. If yoU are so concerned, switch off and on with your dh next year. Or have your dh do one block with DC, come home and switch places with you. This is not rocket science.
Of course my personal world revolves around my family and my kids. I've personally handed out bucket loads of candy for years and years. And I love to do it. Many houses on the other hand have their lights turned off and are not participating, and not because they are out and about, but because they don't want to. It is preposterous and rude of you to think that you will not survive without candy from our house, or because someone might have taken all the candy from the bowl we are leaving out.
