I have a story similar to PP.  When I was a teenager, my grandmother lived with us after my grandpa died.   Over the her last 2-3 days, her lucidity would come and go.  The morning of her death, she was sitting up in bed.  She looks at the door, smiles brightly and says “Bippy (her name for my deceased granddad) and Junior (my deceased uncle), you are FINALLY here to pick me up!  I’m so happy!.”  She laid down and never woke up.

The other one is more bizarre.  My Dad died suddenly a few years ago when my DS was around 7.  My DS was his only grandson and they were extremely close.  One day, DS and I were home alone and  in his room playing on the floor.  DS looks up, his face turns white and he gasps “PAPA (his name for my dad)!!”  I try to calm him and he was convinced that he saw my Dad walk past his room.  To placate him, I walk out in the hall to pretend to look around.  My Dad was known for wearing a cologne made in his home country.  The smell is unique and strong and he is the ONLY man I know who wore it.  Anyways, I walk out in the hall and, lo and behold, I smell my father’s cologne crisp and clear without question.
