Why don't the kids make their own lunches? I've been making my own since first grade.
Some of us would rather not have a kitchen disaster nightly if the kids were left to do it on their own. There is a differnce between teaching your child how to make their lunch and lazy parenting. Having a 6 year old do it on their own with no help is lazy parenting. Sorry, but it's true.
That is some backwards thinking, my dear. Teaching your child self-sufficiency is called good parenting. Six year olds need guidance with making their lunch, but once they get the hang of it -- why couldn't they make their own lunches? My kids have been doing this since about first/second grade. I check all the their lunches and add or take away things as needed. They've also learned about nutrition and balanced meals in the process.
