OP here. Had a breakdown last night and called my doctor. He said there is no credible evidence out there showing that fetal hiccups are related to cord compression. Since I already had a reassuring BPP this week, as well as a good NST on Friday, he said baby is ok. Also, I've been making kick counts when I do them. I still couldn't sleep very well last night for fear I would miss movement. It took so much to get this pregnancy that this home stretch (I am 33 weeks) is going to be really scary and worrisome.
' OP--I am so sorry you have to go thru this. I can just offer my empathy...my DD was never a mover--seriously my OB was shocked when even the US didn't get her to move-however she did continuously pass NST. The only moving she really did was consistent hiccups in the 3rd trimester. I read everything you read, and stressed out about it. I also had a loss , so was extra worried. Everyone told me to relax ( didn't help) and said things like "if you're this worried now just wait until the baby is born"...however for me it is now so much easier with my 7month DD. I can see her and know she is okay, the pressure of carrying her and being worried I would miss something as well as trying to be so aware of my body and her was hard on me. Of course as a mother the worrying never stops, but my DH just commented how I have yet to call the dr after hours ( i.e crazy about every little thing) so you may be like me and just feel such relief when you have the healthy baby in your arms. I just wanted you to know my DD had hiccups ALL the time, and hardly moved ( she did pass her kick counts if I drank OJ or cold water), but she is a happy healthy KICKING 7 month old--that still gets hiccups all the time :) I wish I could give you a hug, I hope these next few weeks fly for you and congratulations on your little one!
Thank you so much for your very sweet message. I have been so worried (and beating myself up for worrying so much) that your post is like a breath of fresh air. I agree- I will most likely worry for different reasons when this baby gets here but at least I will be able to see the baby and know he/she is ok rather than worry abou what I can't see. These hiccups have really had me worried so thank you for telling me that your DD had them as well. I had a BPP today and the baby passed perfectly thank goodness. No cord wrapped around the neck. Yes I hope these next few weeks fly by as well!!!!!! Again, thank you for posting - I really appreciate it more than you know:). Congratulations on your baby as well!
