You might like Salona Village too, it's sort of in between LO and FP, walkable to downtown Mclean and commuter buses and is hilly and wooded if you are into this, you might get a lot backing into parkland. There are lots of new homes going up there, area is changing, but there are also more reasonably priced good size older homes like ramblers and split levels. In terms of commute, there are major road intersections to give you various options of getting to DC, it will be about the same as commuting from Potomac Hills. There is supposed to be an express bus for the Tysons East metro stop too at some point, not sure if it will make a difference though.
SV is closest to the heart of McLean, so very convenient for shopping. It's more like FP than LO, in that it's a mix of houses, there aren't sidewalks, and there are more commuting options to DC than from LO. There is supposed to be Fairfax Connector bus service running through downtown McLean to the Tysons/McLean station, which is about two miles away, once it opens. People who live in SV would need to walk about 1/4 to 1/2 mile to catch it.
