$1400, custom made, still love it, but should have sprung the extra couple hundski for the expensive silk liner. The cheaper one reflected oddly (lace dress) with the camera flash.
Public Service Announcement! If you have a wedding dress made, you must have 4 layers in the bodice, not two. Layer one, outer layer (be it lace, silk or whatever) Layer two, inner lining. Best if it is a heavier layer of quality fabric, such as a dull silk or silk blend duchesse satin. Layer three, underlining. Usually a nice 100% cotton fabric with a crispness to it. Layers two and three are placed together, and then sewn together at each seam throughout the bodice, in vertical channels that house the boning. Layer four, lining. The best fabric is silk organdy. It sounds like a lot, but that is the only way to make a well constructed wedding dress that will hold all the weight of the trim and the skirt while still maintaining the shape of the bodice through the long wdding celebration.. It sounds hot, but by using natural fibers (except for any lace) it will maintain breathability far better than a synthetic dress of just 2 layers.
