Re: paint, I don't think you can expect painting will occur unless it's discussed. Sorry, but that's my experience.

I'd bring up the pod and the washer and ask where you can put the furniture you won't be using - trash, previous tenants, does the owner want it? Because you don't.

Then over the course of 6 weeks I'd do a deep clean and paint a few rooms. After that, you'll feel much better. In fact, if you can afford it, I'd probably just suck it up and pay someone $300 to come deep clean the hell out of it myself and get right to painting. But if you can't afford that, you can clean it yourself. It sucks, but such is life.[/quote]
