I don't think this is a proper comparison. I agree with many PPS that assessing someone in preK is way too early. My eldest was reading 2nd grade level in preK (and superior math etc.) but there is no reason to do a grade jump this early. I would have never agreed if this had been suggested (and frankly- a suggestion like this is so unusual- plus preK teachers are not I'd say on the cutting edge of teaching and public/gifted etc.[/quote]
