[/quote] op here - this seems like a good idea, but if the house will show better with hardwoods then I worry it will take longer to sell with the old carpeting. plus, very little needs to be done to fix the house other than that, so I wouldn't want it to be a dealbreaker for someone looking for turnkey condition.
