Depending on the school, you will have some intense parental pressure, or a very needy student population. A few schools have a balance of both.

I think job fairs are coming up fairly soon, so you might want to complete the on-line application...

If you have specific questions, please feel free to write a follow up post.  When you transfer from another VA district, you do transfer unused sick leave, and you start off on the 3rd year of probationary status, if you have tenure in your current VA district. That means you would not have to have 3 years in a row of evaluations prior to being on contract status; instead you would simply have one year like that...your first year in ACPS.  The state itself is now going to a 3 year cycle of evaluation, which ACPS uses anyway.

Thanks for the very helpful input! It's hard to imagine more PD than FCPS........It has increased by far in the past 2-3 years. I'm looking at ES, and I plan to get my online application up this weekend. Do you know if it's acceptable to also send my resume to specific schools I'm interested in, or do I need to wait to be contacted?[/quote]
